Welcome Baby Banner for My New Nephew Baby Oscar!
I am SO excited today because I got to visit my new baby nephew Oscar today for the first time! My brother James and his wife Kemi looked tired but excited about their new arrival. I was so glad to see that my sister-in-law was recovering nicely! My dad and my hubby got to hold the baby as well! He is just so precious! At home, I made a banner for the baby but it wasn't ready so I didn't bring it to the hospital. After our visit, I finished the banner at home! It was an idea from my Stampin' Up Demo Kari M. I originally made it as a HOME banner at one of her monthly club meetings and then at Christmas I made a Christmas banner with some stuff I had at home using the same format! So now I had tons of fun and made a banner for the baby using my SU stuff at home and pressed out Serif Letters for the name! I think it will make a great gift when we visit next!

SUO Challenge #36 New Techniques: Stand Up Birthday Card with Glitter
I have just been having so much fun playing around with a new technique: making a stand up card/pop up card filled with wonderful sentiments and awesome embellishments! I learned the technique at Kari's and made a wedding "Congratulations" card! It is just so fabulous that I have it on the credenza in my front hallway along with a stand up photo album and the wedding guest book. It makes such a cute display! And the photo flips so a new photo can be on display at any time!
Anyways, I modified Kari's original card design to make a fabulous card for my Sister-in-Law's birthday! The party is tonight and I am going to have a quick wash up to get all the glitter off of me, but I just had to post these pics! The paper is black card stock scored exactly in the middle and then 5/8 on each side of the centre line then score it into the shape you are looking for. It's not too hard. I used tombow to glue a black square to the back so I could place my fun flowers. The edges are brushed in SU glitter glue and I used their Melon Mambo ink...just so fabulous. The black and striped paper is from MDS. The T on the back is for her name "Tanya" and the stamp behind it is from the Upsy Daisy set! Birthday Wishes is from the Occasional Quotes set. I wrapped the gift in matching MDS paper and used a tag stamp from a retired SU set....I just love that cute Make a Wish tag! I will post more after the party but I must go! Cheers! Happy Stampin'!
